Sometimes in a design firm’s life you meet “the perfect client”. A client who is engaged in the process, is open to creative ideas and willing to go outside the box to create the home that they have dreamed of. On top of that they’re nice people whose sense of humor carries them through many things, including the challenges of remodeling over the course of years.
That would be this client. The project: A 6000 sq ft home in the foothills of Denver, built in the early ’90s. It had good bones and more importantly, a great location. The homeowner knew that they wanted to change the house to fit the exquisite views, some of the best nature has to offer.
We always say the best projects are the collaborative ones! Over the course of 3 years, together we renovated 90% of the house.
Improvements include: installing all new culled hickory hardwood throughout the main floor, including custom marquetry inlay (see below), refacing and in some cases relocating four fireplaces, heated tiles floors, motion sensor toekicks in the bathrooms, installing low voltage lighting throughout, and redesigning the expansive kitchen to take full advantage of the red rock formations that can be seen from the windows. And, of course, all new custom furnishings throughout.
So many more things to mention here, so just enjoy and if you have questions, feel free to contact us.
