One of our areas of specialty is restoring and/or renovating 100 year old homes..There’s nothing typical about any of them, and the challenges they present make our job more interesting! This home, built in 1915 in the 6th Avenue Estates area, is no exception…beautiful bones to start with, but various bad renovations over the years, plus the presence of asbestos and lead in the ceiling, pipes and paint, all provided “opportunties” for improvement!
See how light and bright it is!! Unusual for older homes, but one of the homeowners requests for the finished space. We were happy to oblige.
Some improvements included: heated wood floor in the kitchen, leaded glass cabinets and pocket door, built in library cabinets in the family room which didn’t exist, and raising ceiling heights from 6 different heights through this space, to one. Exotic stone countertops, and custom backsplash and copper hood complete the kitchen.
